All new windows are made from grade 1, joinery quality and sustainable European Redwood, or one of a series of carefully selected hardwood options.

All joinery is treated to protect against rot and insect infestation.

The windows are constructed using traditional wedged mortice and tenon joints.

The sashes and boxes are finished using a four-coat moisture vapour-permeable spray applied acrylic paint system.

The internal moulding detail is selected to match the original window, or a suitable alternative is selected from our comprehensive range.

The sashes come complete with our integral draught-proofing system, as described earlier.

Where single glazed sash units are required, a wide range of glazing options are available, including laminated glass to reduce noise and antique glass for period integrity.

They are puttied using long-life non-cracking acrylic putty, and the final coat of paint is hand applied.

Double glazed sealed units can be manufactured using any type of glass, e.g., energy saving, toughened, laminated, acoustic, patterned or sandblasted.

For multi-paned sash windows, a unique construction method is used.

The sealed units are hand made and incorporate a grid of spacer bars between the sheets of glass to follow the lines of the glazing bars.

Thus the window is made from just one sealed unit, but retains the original fine dimensions of the glazing bars.
